Ottawa photographer Colin Rowe launched Archimedia in 2006. Since then, he has helped numerous clients—including Skywalker Ranch, Parks Canada, Environment Canada, Transport Canada, Agriculture Canada, Queen’s and Dalhousie universities, Humber and Algonquin colleges, and Alcatel Lucent—set up and run digital asset management (DAM) systems. From developing controlled vocabularies and managing projects to hosting DAM solutions on Archimedia’s servers, Colin has developed extensive DAM expertise. He has led multiple training sessions for up to 50 participants.

After graduating from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (now Ryerson University) in 1991, Colin worked as a food photographer and taught a range of photography courses before moving to Ottawa. In Ottawa, he has continued to teach and to run a thriving photography business. Editorial clients have included Time, People, Fortune Small Business, Canadian Geographic, Canadian Business, Maclean’s and Ottawa Magazine. Commercial clients have included Defence Construction Canada, the University of Ottawa, Walmart, Iridium, Loblaws, Minto, Ottawa Tourism and the Canadian Real Estate Association.

His personal and working projects have taken him throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia, Vanuatu, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong and Macau.
